The material will only show its half-transparent effect when it's rendered.
Then I did the pose for my character. I used masking and tweaked her arms and legs. However, I found that her legs looked weird.

Final Project : Polishing and Dynamic Posture with Props
INSTRCTIONS
You are to finally polish your character, Cleanup and retouch your sculpt accordingly with an appealing posture that represents character personality clearly. Character to have props that will further support characters persona and adds visual narrative of its nature. Sculpture should stand on a platform and retopoed. Lighting to be further enhanced and final renders to then be retouched in photoshop or ad digital painting tool. Below are the required breakdowns list:
- Collective shots rendered to show components in details
- Final render to be polished and presented on a potrait sized image. Printable high res.
- Final poster with appealing layout.
- Baked texture sheet
- Projection to low-poly model
- Character turntable
FINAL PROJECT : POLISHING & DYNAMIC POSTURE WITH PROPS
The final project involves finalizing the character design, creating poses, coloring the character, and making a poster. I already had a colored character when working on Character Design, so I just followed my color scheme.

Week 13: Coloring Progress
To paint the face better I referenced some oil painting techniques how they use a little bit of blue and purple to paint faces.

I hid the character's hair and added some blue color to the face. I kept the face clean and added some yellow on her cheek, followed by a reddish-pink tone on top of the yellow. This layering technique helps to achieve a more nuanced and vibrant look. Her eyes were challenging to paint, so I watched some tutorials and decided to paint them blue. I chose a lighter red for her lips, as this type of makeup with a blurry lip line is currently popular. I also painted her eyebrows with a light brown color and added eyeliner for her. While painting her face, it felt like I was applying makeup, which helped achieve a more polished and modern appearance.

I painted her hair in purple and used different shades of purple to add highlights and shadows, giving the hair more depth and dimension.
Then, I painted the rest of her clothes and the weapon book. For the cape, which is designed to be sheer and partially opaque, I adjusted the settings to achieve the desired effect. Display properties > BRB Settings.

Week 14: Final Touches
To refine my poses, I use SetPose. This tool allows me to create realistic poses by understanding the limitations of how bones can move and twist. I can ensure that my character's positions are anatomically correct and realistic. This not only helps in achieving a more natural look but also aids in avoiding any unnatural distortions or unrealistic movements in my designs.

I added a base at the bottom with a design of hieroglyphics embossed on it.

After I refining and rendered all the views, I started working on the poster. I began by adjusting the settings and saturation levels, and I also added some subtle red lights to enhance the overall effect. I created a twirl background with different shades of brown to represent sand.
Then, I used Photoshop to put together the compilation board. I made the background resemble worn greyish paper and added a layer of hieroglyphics to give it an ancient Egyptian look. I organized the content into sections: introduction, hero pose, turnaround views, and accessories.

FEEDBACK
Week 14: She's too pale. You can use Photoshop to edit: increase saturation, add some highlights like oily skin and lips (saliva), and add highlights to the hair. Just some final touches to make your portfolio look good. You can make the base brown because using gold might draw too much attention.
Week 13: Be careful of the jagged lines. You can add highlights to her hair and use darker eyeliner and lip liner for her. When posting, use masking for her pose, but be cautious with her legs—they currently look like they’re broken.
REFLECTIONS
Experience:
Throughout this project, I developed my skills in ZBrush, focusing on coloring and material manipulation. I explored how to apply various textures and color schemes, which enhanced my understanding of digital painting techniques.
Observation:
During the process, I observed that the choice of colors and materials can significantly influence the overall aesthetic of the character. For example, subtle changes in shading and highlights can dramatically affect how textures and details are perceived. I also noted that achieving a balanced and cohesive look requires careful attention to detail and consistency across all elements of the design. Even though my character is not realistic, but posting revealed the importance of anatomical accuracy and how it impacts the realism of the final render.
Findings:
I found that masking and adjusting poses can be complex, particularly when ensuring natural and dynamic movements. Moreover, the project highlighted the importance of iterative refinement and feedback, as making adjustments based on observations and critiques led to significant improvements in the overall design.
